Penscratch 2 – changing physical address

    The Contact section on my site has a placeholder address, but I can’t figure out how to change it to my city and state. I’ve been through all the options in the editor; it’s not part of the contact page.

    @dcwebdev Hi there,

    I can’t figure out how to change it to my city and state

    That would by editing the details of that widget:
    https://wordpress.com/support/widgets/contact-info/

    Hope this helps, let us know how it went!

    The only widgets in use are the sidebar and footer ones.

    @dcwebdev Exactly that. So within those widgets in use for the footer, you will see the one with the placeholder address which you can customize with your details.

    Hope this helps a bit further, let us know how it goes!

    Hi folks, I hope you don’t mind me adding to the conversation here.

    @dcwebdev
    looking at your home page, it looks like you previously had an older, default theme (maybe when you set up your site?) and then switched to Penscratch2. If this is the case, you might have set a Static Front Page as your site’s front page.

    If you want to keep that page as your homepage, head to your Pages dashboard and open the page titled HOME for editing. Once the page is open in the Editor, you should be able to change the contact information displayed there.

    Again, let us know how that goes.

    @justjennifer Great insight, I’ll keep it in mind for future reference.

    By the way, if there is any way that I can also discover details about a previous theme in use -as a forum member- do let me know, please.

    That worked, thanks Jennifer!

    @dcwebdev Glad that helped. You’re welcome.

    @anastas10s
    there isn’t really. You’ll want to ask the original poster and they can find that info in their jetpack activity dashboard if changing themes was within the last 20 actions they took.

    In this case, I remembered that the frontpage layout on @dcwebdev’s site was one of the layouts available for a while when first setting up a new WordPress.com site. It’s no longer available AFAIK.

    Regardless, you should be able to see if a site is using a static front page by looking at the page and then checking the page source. Hope that helps.
