Penscratch 2 featured image

Hi, my question is about the subject theme. Is there any way we can have the full featured image (not the cropped one) on the post page? in settings or through CSS customization

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, are you talking about on the main (blog) page or on the single post pages, like My Home Town…? When I look at your uploaded images and compare them with what is in the single post pages, and on the blog pages, the images are identical from what I can see. There is no cropping on featured images in Twenty Twelve, the images are just resized to fit the available width.

Can you point me to a location where you are seeing cropping?

Hi. I apologize. I restored Penscratch theme for you to check on now. My question is about featured image on homepage (body.blog) and the same picture on post page (body.single). In Penscratch 2 theme, both are cropped. I wish to have the image cropped on homepage (as it’s now) and full (not cropped) on post page. Example: My Home Town Cookeville TN USA 4.
    The full image is: https://mohamadkarbi.files.wordpress.com/2017/08/putnam-county-tn-usa-logos.jpg

I believe it’s though coding of the theme and it might be difficult to change it on wordpress.com. However, I thought i might ask in case there are some settings or CSS i’m not aware of

    Ah, thanks.

The WordPress and theme software are creating a cropped image off of your originally uploaded image and using that created image, so there isn’t anything we can do by CSS.

The Penscratch 2 theme showcase page says featured images should be 656 x 300 pixels, which is a width to height ratio of about 2.2 to 1. Looking at that image, it would be pretty hard to get it to that ratio or size. About the only think I can think of would be to create a “canvas” in an image editing program that was 656 x 300 and then insert that image into it on a layer and then size it so that it fits within the boundaries of the canvas.

I wish I had a solution, but with the image being inserted directly into the html in an img tag, and being cropped by the software, there isn’t anything I can do.
