penscratch theme is resizing my photos

I can’t get photos to appear actual size in the penscratch theme- it always shrinks them to like a medium size. I tried editing the pixel width in the CSS but it didn’t work. Any suggestions? TIA.

Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels)
The main column width is 656, except in the full-width template, where it’s 937. -
I did check the settings. I’d like to get the photos to display the same width as the text column, so that should be 656, correct?

Hi there! I checked your latest post, and it looks like you’ve been able to insert an image that spans the full width of your text column. I took a screenshot for reference, which you can see here:

Hi, thanks- I discovered kind of by accident in playing around with my widgets that removing the Instagram widget resulted in full size photos. However, I would like to add the widget back! Wondering if there’s a way to edit the CSS for the widget width? Maybe it’s somehow “squishing” the width of the main column? Or maybe it’s a coincidence…

Thanks for the additional info! I’ve been trying to reproduce this issue, but have been unable to do so.
Could you try adding the Instagram widget back once again? Then, check to see if the issue persists. If it does, let me know and I’d be happy to investigate further!

Hi guys,
I just did my first post (ever) using pen scratch and it keeps cropping the photos I upload (usually at the bottom). I’ve tried resizing them so that the pixels are the same width as the text i.e 656 and in the preview under the settings tab it looks fine. But I’ve tried 3 different images and each type it crops the bottom although the in the thumbnail there’s no cropping… any suggestions?blog is https://simplicityandthefourthlife.wordpress.com

Hey Samantha – featured images in Penscratch are displayed on the blog index at 656 by 300 px.
