Penscratch theme problem

  • Unknown's avatar

I just switched to the Penscratch theme and I love it but I noticed something. When I’m in the Post Editor, the text/font looks different than it looks with any other theme I’ve used. It’s a little bigger and more gray. I was wondering if this is specific to Penscratch for some reason or if there’s a glitch in the theme?

It’s not a big deal at all, it’s just that when I add a link to something the link is really hard to see in the post editor. (Everything looks fine live on my blog though).

    Thanks!

    Bob

  • Hi Bob, some themes, like Penscratch, have an editor stylesheet that makes the editor emulate the site’s front end, matching the theme’s font size and colours. That’s what you’re seeing. Of course since you’ve tweaked your site with custom colours and fonts, your editor doesn’t quite match your site’s front end anymore. :-)

I don’t think this has anything to do with the fact that I customized the colors/fonts. This is strictly about the Post Editor (you don’t even have to look at my site for this question).

When I’m on my Edit Post page, the font/text, inside the Post Editor window, looks different than it used to look. I don’t know how else to explain it except to say that every other theme I use the font/text has looked the same. Since I switched to Penscratch the font/text is bigger, more gray, a different font. I’m just talking about what I see in the Edit Post page – my site looks completely fine.)

I’ve looked at other themes and the font/text in Edit Post looks exactly the same as it has always looked over the years. It just looks different with Penscratch.

As I mentioned, some themes have the editor stylesheet feature, and others don’t. Penscratch is one that does.

Here’s an example of your text in the post editor:

Edit Post BOB SASSONE THE OFFICIAL SITE WordPress

And here’s a portion of text from the demo site:

Penscratch A clean responsive theme for writers

You can see that the font and colours are the same.

Do you know of any other themes that are like this, the ones that have the editor stylesheet feature?

  • Writr, Twenty Fifteen, Resonar are just a few themes that have an editor stylesheet.
