People are having a hard time leaving comments on my blog.

New process for leaving comments is not user friendly. I understand that people with email addresses associated with wordpress and gravatar must now log in first. The problem is that people often don’t know/remember that. Asking someone to go recover a password to then be able to leave a comment will simply mean that they will not leave a comment. Even worse, if I am trying to leave a comment on my own blog I’m being asked to log in. I’m already logged into wordpress! Why should I have to log in again to the comments?
This is incredibly frustrating. When will this be fixed? When this process flow was designed/tested didn’t anyone think that this would invariably lead to people not commenting? Comments are critical to blogs, wordpress is doing us bloggers a disservice. Please fix soon!

When trying to leave a comment on your own blog, make sure that you are using the email address on your account.
As for the rest, we are working to make this a bit easier on folks, but I don’t have an estimate on when that will be ready.
