Having the same problem. Can’t find drawingwithjoy’s blog typing the URL into the address bar on either Chrome or IE. Ditto my blog femaleculture.wordpress.com. I can only get to my blog by logging in which means others can’t find my blog. Thankyou for your assistance.

Doesn’t work for me. Searches come up with long lists of blogs with “female culture” in the posts themselves. Will have to work this out myself. Communication gap between the Yanks and me. Thanks anyway.

@fem – nothing wrong with us yanks – your blog is two weeks old – maybe 6 Posts on it – expecting to find it with a search engine is a lost cause – it takes 4 to 6 weeks for a search engine to index a new site – and that is only if you have something worth indexing and lots of content
then there is the issue of standing out from the other millions of web sites
-
Me again. For us newbies it’s helpful to know we need to verify our site with Google (or Bing/Pinterest) and that it does take a few weeks, etc. That was the original question. Thanks.

You don’t need to verify a blog with a search engine – when you publish a Post your blog calls up all the search engines and tells the search engines there is a new Post and to please stop by.
New sites take time to get indexed and to show up in search results. No short cuts to the top line in a search engine. Visit timethief’s site for tips on better blogging including how to get better search results
