people cannot follow me

My sister tried to sign up to follow my blog. She got the automatic e-mail response, but the link included in it did not work. I got no notification either. She tried several times, no result. I have looked through all my settings and cannot see that I have done anything to block anyone.
Now I cannot know how many other persons may have tried to follow me without being able to.
Please help.

Hi!
I just checked, and it looks like your sister’s subscription is still pending. I just tried signing up via email, and the link appeared to work correctly on my side. I was able to subscribe successfully. Can you ask your sister to visit your site again and re-enter her email? That should generate a new confirmation URL to her email.

My sister has tried several times. She does get the e-mail that says that she should click “confirm follow”. But when she tries, it is not possible to click the link. She gets the message that the URL is not syntactically valid. If she goes to my site, and tries to sign up again, she gets the message that she already has a pending sub.
She has tried this three times, with exactly the same result!

Can you let me know what email provider/client she’s using? It looks like she’s on comhem.se. Does she check email directly through that service or through a program like Apple’s Mail? I’ve tried through Gmail, Mailbox App, and Apple’s Mail, but I’ve yet to receive an error message.

Yes, she is on comhem.se. She uses an Apple computer and her mail program is Eudora. Is that the problem perhaps? I know that Eudora does not work with the latest Mac OS versions. I think hers is OS.X.6.

That could indeed be the issue. By chance, could she try this with Apple Mail or by visiting her inbox at Comhem in her browser?
As of right now, I’ve been unable to reproduce so I think this might be a one-off issue with this particular configuration. I’ve reached out to your sister via private email to confirm her subscription. Once she replies back there, I’ll confirm for her!

Thanks, Jeremeylduvall, for your help. My sister has now managed to subscribe to my wordpress site. But I have received no notification of it, neither on the site nor by e-mail. Something must still be wrong.

I can confirm your sister is subscribed correctly. I see her address in your follower list (under email followers) and checked her subscription records and she received your post from May 30th.
Jeremey had to do the confirmation manually which could explain why you didn’t get the confirmation email, but I can assure you, everything is as it should be on this!
