People can't comment though comments enabled
-
For several days we’ve had an issue with people not being able to comment. I managed to reply to a comment within the dashboard, but I can’t on the website. We’re using the P2 theme. Is this a theme issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry, you need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently.
If you are not familiar with the differences, see this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .

It’s not self-hosted. It’s on wordpress.com. When I posted, there was an option that asked me which site of mine this post referred to, so I didn’t bother repeating that information in the text box, but after the post went live, that information was not shown. That option either needs to be removed or have it show up in the post somewhere.
The problem is located here:

That option displays the URL only to Staff and to the support bot. We Volunteers cannot see the URL selected so we have to ask for members to post theme. Are those who unable to post comments official users of the blog or not?

No one can post, not eve me, nor users, nor visitors.
Thanks for the explanation on the blog option. Would be good to have a note about that when somebody makes a new post.
-
As no one can post you will need to contact Staff. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
P.S. You’re welcome and I agree that it would be a good idea to have some kind of a notice as some members become hostile when we Volunteers ask for the URL for the blog being referred to.

OK, thanks. I don’t mind giving the URL, just figured it was redundant after the blog option drop-down menu. God bless.

The site linked to your username, http://randalmatheny.com/ , is self-hosted. As a volunteer, I cannot see what blog URL you chose when you made the topic, so without a link to the site you are talking about, my only course is to click on your username, which is a self-hosted site.
You are not the first person to report issues with posting and commenting on P2 here at wordpress.COM. There was at least one other report of this.
Contact staff directly as Timethief suggests. They are really the only ones that can fix this.

I searched and also checked the tags and didn’t see anything specific on comment problems, so came to the forum.
I’ve contacted staff. Thanks.
