People can't see my blog site

I posted a recent blog and shared it on Facebook. Everyone who has tried to access my site are unable to see my site without signing up on your website. At first, I had my site set for ‘private’, but then I changed it to ‘hidden’ and then I changed it to ‘public’ and NOTHING made a difference. So I’m back to ‘hidden’ hoping to minimize who sees my site. What happened to the simple formatting?? I used to be able to write a blog, post it on Facebook, then everyone could click on the link and viola! they could read my blog. Now I am losing readers RAPIDLY because they don’t want to sign up on WordPress or download the app to their phone. They just want to read my blog! What can I do to make this happen?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am able to see your posts. Is the domain https://myladyeloise.wordpress.com/ the right one?The last post I see is “Dark Days Have Rays Of Light” posted on November 29, 2016

Yes, that’s the right domain. It’s the people who are not members of WordPress who are having issues because they don’t want to sign up. I guess that’s gonna be their loss then, because others are not having problems….ONCE they sign up!

I’m not happy with the way so many companies are forcing people to “join” because there are still people who want their privacy and are suspicious of anyone tracking them. I understand their feelings.

Thanks for getting back to me.

  • I just checked your site without being logged in to WordPress, and I am perfectly able to read your blog posts. So, you don’t need to sign up in order to read your posts.

What I don’t understand though, is that you say:

So I’m back to ‘hidden’ hoping to minimize who sees my site.

    And then later:

Now I am losing readers RAPIDLY because they don’t want to sign up on WordPress or download the app to their phone.

That’s a little contradictory. I’m not really sure what you’re trying to achieve: minimize your readers, or maximize?

Same here. I am able to see your posts without being logged in.

There’s a setting that gives the blogger the option to be “public” or “hidden” or “private”. I have a niche group of people I generally reach, but I don’t want to be completely public for anyone in the world to see it. I would have subscribers, but again, my readers are anti-subscribe/join type of people.

    Does that make better sense?

So I can’t tell what these people are doing to NOT be able to see my site and at this point, I am just gonna deal with it in other ways. I can always get around a technological road block – it just takes more effort and individualized attention to my readers. Good thing I don’t have very many.

    Thanks for the input, folks!
