People liking my blogs

Hi, how can people like my blogs without having to create an account themselves? I published my blog and shared on Facebook asking people to follow etc but it asks them to create an account before they can like the blog. Is this right?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well, how else would you like the “like” to be signed? How would you know who liked your post? There has to be an account of some sort, associated with the like. If your friends follow your site on Facebook, they do so with their Facebook account. If you like a YouTube video, you like it with a Google/YouTube account. If you like something on WordPress… got it? :)
Without a WordPress account, they can subscribe to your blog via email, to receive notifications whenever you post.

Hi there @daveandsallyt @alpheblog has the right of it. Likes are unique to logged in WordPressdotcom users as they use a person’s Gravatar. Logged in users can also Like your post from the WordPressdotcom Reader, if they are subscribed there.

You can learn more about Likes in our support guide at https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/ which also suggests adding Ratings via Crowdsignal, which can be used by logged out users. Crowdsignal is an Automattic product, like WordPressdotcom, so you already have an account there. :)

Hope that helps but let us know if you have any other question about this.
