People still following me on old blog after I transferred to new; how to stop it

  Hi-

  I moved my subscribers from my wordpress.com blog when I transferred everything to my wordpress.org blog, but today I saw that two people signed up for follow me from the old blog. I was able to transfer them manually to the new blog, but don’t want to have to keep doing that.

  How can I set it up so anyone who follows me follows the new blog, not the old one?

  Hey Diane,

  The only way readers would be able to follow your old WordPress.com blog would be if they manually added the URL on their Follow Blog page here:

  https://wordpress.com/following/edit/

  Otherwise, the Site Redirect would take them to your new blog to follow.

  One solution would be to mark your old WordPress.com site as private via the options here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  The Site Redirect should work and folks that try to follow your old blog should receive an error.

  Can you give that a try?
