On my page, http://www.thatgirlgemma.wordpress.com/give-love , I need people to be able to submit a comment or reply and have it show up right away, there is no need for me to approve anything. All the appropriate boxes are checked (discussions, comments, etc…) but for some reason a permalink showed up and in order to comment, you have to click the permalink, which i HATE. I do not want people to have to do that in order to comment and it’s also very inconspicuous to find. Can you please help with getting rid of the permalink in order to comment, and having comments post right underneath the picture as soon as “submit” is hit? THANK YOU!

I originally did not have the contact form in there but the replies never showed up. So I added a contact form thinking that might help but it did not. Even without the contact form when somebody comments a reply it doesn’t show up right away.

That is peculiar. I distinctly saw it, rather than “your comment is being held for moderation.

Could you try again? Did u use reply box at bottom or the comment box under picture? Should I get rid of comment box?

When a user submits your contact form, the feedback will be filtered through Akismet to make sure it’s not spam. Any legitimate feedback will then be emailed to you, and added to your feedback management area.http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/#feedback-management

Thank you! I was also having trouble categorizing that post as “picture” and NOT having a permalink. The only way I don’t get the permalink is if it is categorized as “aside post” or something like that. I want the picture to be in the middle of the page not off to the left. The only way to do that is to categorize as photo….insert permalink in order for people to comment! Grrr!!
I just removed contact form. Could you try to make a comment for me please?

I just tried leaving a comment on the link you posted above and it went through without any moderation or problem.
And now that I’ve done that, I’m going to say that un-moderated comments are not a good thing. There is way too much possibility of spam comments making it through. Although Akismet is generally very good about recognizing spam and will put spam in the spam folder, here are some resources that you will want to read to educate yourself to recognize those spam comments that may make it into your regular comments:

If you find such comments getting through, mark them as spam so that Akismet learns from you.
