I made a “blog” page link and when I click on it there’s box that I have to click on that takes me to the actual post. Do you know how to get rid of it?

The number indicates you have placed 3 other static pages title Blog in the Trash but have not permanently deleted them.

If you permanently delete them then you can change the page slug on the remaining one to remove the number.

If you create a static page called Blog for all your published posts to display on and have failed to publish any posts then there will be none that can be displayed. If you create a static page called Blog for all your published posts to display on, naturally one will have to click each title of each post to visit the post and view the post on its own page.

You have chosen to use a static front page.
You are using the Hatch theme. The “box” on the Hatch theme is designed to show a featured image which links to your full posts.
Featured Images
Hatch’s grid-style design relies heavily on featured images, so it looks its best when you assign one to each of your posts. You can do this using the Featured Image meta box when you create or edit a post.
Featured images will appear both on the blog as a preview and full size in single post view. Please note, on single posts the featured image will be duplicated if also included in the post content.
If no featured image is assigned, Hatch will attempt to pull the first attached image in your post. If no image is attached, the theme displays a light gray placeholder.

If you want to “get rid of it” either choose featured images or use a different theme.

I changed the theme to the manifest theme and I have a “test” page and I still have to click on the word test in order to see blog postings. I’ve read pretty much everything that was suggested and still have trouble. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
