Hello, I have written a piece for my blog page from a MS word document, and have included a .jpg photo from my pc to sit with it, and have saved it is a darft. When I click ‘preview’ it is spot-on except for a permalink that I delete in either the visual or text mode – but it keeps re-appearing. How can I get shot of is please? I have not come across this before.

Hi Gemma, I have used the link for the ‘improved editor’ and deleted the annoying kink that kept coming up, and it stayed deleted!
I published the page and it looks fine.
Does this point to an issue with the standard editing for the pages?

Hello, Yes, it is now published here:
https://petercbrown.wordpress.com/I tried re-writing it on MS Word and making sure there weren’t any hyperlinks in the text and then re-uploaded it, but as soon as I sdaved it as ‘draft’ the big permalink was there.
Since then, I used the other editor, deleted the text of the permalink and published it and it is fine. Does it point to an issue with the standard edtitor?

I used the ‘improved experience’ edtor and deleted the permalink and when I published it form there it worked!
Does this mean there may be an issue with the standard edtitor?I can supply my login details if you need them.

We do not need your login credentials. Those should never be shared. If you notice that this issue happens again please come back here and let us know.
Sometimes things can be a bit wonky when using a different editor, like MS Word, and then pasting the text in to the WordPress.com editor.

That could be it – I usually type straight onto WP… but I’ll let you know if it happens again – yet the ‘improved editor’ let me remove the unwanted permalink with no fuss of multiple attempts.

The “paste as text” button can be used when pasting text copied from Word into the editor:

It just removes any unwanted formatting and links that may be included.
