Permalink Problem
-
I recently exported and imported blog posts from:
bridgetperryphotography.wordpress.com
to
bridgetperryphotographyblog.wordpress.com
The posts all show up on the blog site perfectly, however, the permalink and attempting to open the posts does not work.
I keep getting this link instead:
https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?blog=1/2012/07/16/pegg-family/
When trying to edit the posts, I can only change the name of the posts not the permalink. I just created the wordpress site a few hours ago. Also, if I go into these posts from my Dashboard, sometimes I can get them to show as:
http://bridgetperryphotographyblog.wordpress.com/2012/07/08/allie-and-amanda/
From the home page, the link is always:
https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?blog=1/2012/07/08/allie-and-amanda/
It is preceded by “https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?blog=1”. Did I mess up the code somehow? I am using Twenty Ten template and only changed header and background. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s a wide-spread issue evidenced by the multiple active threads on the front page of this forum reporting the same issue. All have been flagged for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting.

Any news on this? I need to get a page live as soon as possible on my new site… This is really frustrating.
-
I’ve seen several threads on this and from what I’ve seen there’s still no news of what’s going on.

Sorry for the trouble!
We identified and corrected the issue. The affected blogs are each being fixed individually.
If yours has not been fixed yet, it should be in a few hours.

I just started a blog yesterday and I’m also experiencing this. In addition, there is no “Permalink” link under settings so I can’t change the structure of Permalinks. My new blog is “http://ofdatingandbusiness.wordpress.com/”

It would save all the volunteers time if everyone could post to the one thread on this rather than the several hundred other small ones.
-
well it has been a few hours, our blog was fixed, but now broken again. What is going on??
-
We have no additional information.
See here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/all-my-links-point-to-the-signup-page-1/page/3?replies=95#post-947666 -
The script running to fix all of the affected blogs failed about half-way through.
We are already aware of all affected blogs, so if yours has not been fixed yet, it will be in a few hours.

@heartbiz
We cannot change permalink structure on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. Every post URL will have the title and datestamp enbdded in it automatically.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-title-url/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-title-url/
The post/page slug is the part of the URL between the last two forward slashes. You can modify the post/page slug by clicking the Edit button next to it and shortening it. -
