Permalink structure in wordpress.com = Broken links
-
Well, i have many post about events, i update everyone several times a week (because its about an event, and there is new info)
The issue is:
– Every time i do an update, the permalink changes, because im changing the published date to put it in my front page, i dont wanna an stick post or a page, just a simple friendly post
So, the link to this post is broken everywhere everytime: Twitter, Blogroll, etc
In fact, one of my post were in the top 10 of “Top Posts” (http://botd.wordpress.com), several times this week, now is a broken link¿Why do we need the plublished date in the permalink?, there is not enough reason
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Why do we need the plublished date in the permalink?, there is not enough reason
The very good reason for this is that this is how a blog (web-log) is supposed to work in the first place, it is a log of dated events. If you need to update the event I suggest to make that event a category or tag and make new posts with new dates using the same category or tag.

“is how a blog (web-log) is supposed to work”
By limiting what CAN be done?
The plublished date must be only meta-info, not part of the permalink, it really is that simple -

If wordpress.com does not have the options you want, you may want to consider switching to a different blogging platform with a different permalink structure, e.g. self-hosted wordpress.org.
