i have several post permalinks instead of having the title name they have a number
the page permalink to the post is a number , the dashboard permalink is the post title
can these be fixed , harry

the top link is to the page where you will see the permalink with the number
bottom link is to dashboard where you will see the permalink with the title
i know what caused this and how to stop it

I always get links directly from the posts after publishing them if I want to post the link somewhere.

Harry, just edit that page ( http://harrythehandyman.wordpress.com/small-how-to-jobs-about-the-home/ ) where you have those links and edit the text and the link for the “airlock in pipes” entry.
