permalink URL

I have what may (or may not) be a really stupid question. The way I write, I would prefer to be able to jot down ideas and place them in draft posts on my site, finish the ideas at a later date, then publish them when finished. Sounds like that kind of workflow is supported in WordPress.com but I noticed something a few days ago.

I jotted down some ideas for a post on February 28th, but I didn’t have time to finish the post the same day. The permalink for the post read:

    http://digifiend.com/2014/02/28...

If I were to finish the post the next day, the post would have actually published in March but might have been archived in February. I solved the issue by copying the content to a text file, creating a new post, then copying the content back, but that seems silly.

Is there any way to regenerate the date portion of the permalink when I am ready to publish, or am I stuck with the permalink issued by the system after I enter info into the subject/title field and move to another field?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is a way to do this. Before you actually hit Publish, edit the datestamp on the right-hand side to today’s date and then Publish it.

I’m not following you on where the datestamp is. Are you talking about where the permalink is modified? It won’t let me touch the date portion of the permalink, just the title portion (at least on a new test post). If the datestamp you are referring to is in a different area, could you please let me know where that is?

No, not where the permalink is modified. You edit the date on the right-hand side. In the sidebar where it says published status, etc.

Found it, it looks like it’s basically a schedule option. Works well, thanks!
