Permalink username of users on team blog?

I blog with 2 other people. In order to make it clear which of us posts which posts, we currently edit each post to say “by April” or “by Danny” or “by kissiegrrrl” before the post’s content. I would prefer if this were automatic, and showed a link of the username of the author of the post. I’ve seen this done on other blogs hosted by WordPress, but haven’t been able to do this on my own. Is this a theme issue, or is there a code I can put in, or option I can select that I am not yet aware of to turn on this feature?

Whether the author name is shown in the post metadata and whether it is linked or not is theme specific. Some themes allow you to choose whether you show the author or not (newly released – don’t remember which ones). There is no way to add that to the metadata that I know of.

You could put the author’s widget at the top of the sidebar, and that would show their gravatar and a link to an author archive page showing all their posts.
