Permalinks
-
Hi there,
I’m trying to change the way my links look in my site. EG:
I would like to change URL’s like this: https://anovelloveblog.wordpress.com/2018/01/22/our-chemical-hearts-review/
to this: https://anovelloveblog.wordpress.com/our-chemical-hearts-review/
basically I’d like to remove the dates.
Is this only possible with a paid account? If so, will the Premium plan do this? Do I need any plugins?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You can change your Permalinks settings for future posts by going to My Site->Dashboard->Settings->Permalinks->Common Settings and select the format you want.
For posts, that you have already published you need to have a Redirect plugin which requires a WordPress Business plan
Hope that helps.
Thank you.

Hi anovelloveblog!
Permalinks cannot be changed for sites hosted on WordPress.com. If you hosted your site yourself though (self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site), you will be able to do that.
You can learn the differences between a self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site and a WordPress.com site here.

Hi @strikebuys
I understand that there is no way to change permalinks in WordPress.com.
But there is a work around wherein one can redirect each permalink URL to customized one.
To do so one would require a WordPress.com business upgrade as it
gives access to Yoast SEO premium plugin which supports redirects.I am tagging this question with the modlook tag on the Tags section of the sidebar for staff advice.
Thank you.

Hi there,
Customization of posts’ URL structure (permalinks) is only available in the Business plan without the need of a plugin or a redirect upgrade.
If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Thanks for clarifying, fstat!

Thank you @fstat for clarifying the same.
@strikebuys Just a gentle reminder on WordPress community standards specified in the thread below especially the first point.

Hi anovelloveblog,
As @fstat had mentioned, customization of posts’ URL structure (permalinks) is only available in the Business plan and you don’t need plugins to accomplish the same.
If you are keen on having access to plugins, then you need to upgrade to Business plan. Premium plan won’t give you access to plugins.
Please find the below support document regarding various plans and pricing.

Thank you.

As @iamrishaan already said, the customization of the permalinks structure is only available in the Business plan. Also, the only plan that allows the installation of plugins is the Business plan.

I have the buisnessplan but I cant find how to change my permalinks. Who can I ask? Could something be wrong with my account?
