Permalinks
-
Sorry, stupid question about saving Permalinks. I’n new to Wpress, just starting out.
I saved a Permalink from a Wpress site, but I don’t know where to look for it to retrieve and launch the URL. Where do these Permalinks end up and how do I find them? -
Hi there!
Could you please give us more details about what you are trying to achieve?
Which permalink exactly are you looking for? Also, could you confirm the URL of the site you’re working on?

Again, I’m new to WP and just clicked on a Permalink link here:
. . . but I would have thought the Permalink would end up on my clipboard, or must be getting stored somewhere?
I’m running macOS Catalina 10.15.7ss on an iMac Pro, plus other devices.
Sorry, I’m really good at complicated things, but always struggle with the fundamentals.
Thank you for taking the time to assist me. Eventually I want to learn, install, and use WP but have yet to get around to it.
I’m not “working” on any of my own sites yet but have a WP account set up.
Still running an old HTTP small website here: NewMediaGroup.com
All the best,

Hi John,
This has nothing to do with WordPress.com. Permalinks and links (in general) to blogs and sites are not saved automatically on your clipboard. You need to right-click on that click and copy it. If you want to save that post or page you can bookmark it using your browser.

Ah! Okay. Thank you very much for solving this for me. I don’t understand why this information is not clearly searchable.
A million thanks!
All the best,
John -
. . . thank you again for your assistance.
One last thing. I tried what you suggested, i.e., right-clicking to copy the link.
I then pasted it into a new tab. But the URL is identical to the original page, so what therefore makes a Permalink any different?
All the best,
John -
Hello John,
Did you copy the link from the address bar? if yes, then that would be expected behaviour?
What is it you’re trying to accomplish exactly with the permalinks of your site?
Perhaps we can offer some further insights :)
Many thanks in advance.
