Permalinks

How can I clean up my permalinks for my pages?
I have noticed that there is an extra section in my permalinks that should not be there as it is redundant? For example my URL is:
https://mywebname.wordpress.com/service-menus/testimonials/When it should be:
https://mywebname.wordpress.com/testimonials/I understand how to change the slug but how can I remove the /service-menus section? There is no parent page for this to attach to.
I have tried duplicating the page and cleaning up the link, however when i hit Publish, the removed section returns.
Thank you for any help.

Hi there!
Can you share the link to the actual page on your site so that we can check? I see you have a lot of child pages, so it’s possible the page in question is also a child page. We can say for sure once we have a link to the page you’re working on.
Thanks!

Hi there. The issue is the same on permalinks to all of the pages except for the landing page.

Hi there!
So I looked at this page, for example: https://browguy.wordpress.com/service-menus/reviews/ – and I found that there’s a parent page on this page (and most other pages). The parent page is what adds
/service-menus/to the URL.Here’s a screenshot from the page editor:

Can you try clicking the X icon to remove the parent page and click “Update” to see what the URL ends up being for this page?
You’ll need to do this on all the pages that have a parent page.
