Permalinks after moving blog from Typepad
-
I’m in the process of moving a blog from Typepad to WordPress.com. All the content is moved over including photos and I’m about ready to map my domain from Typepad to Worpress.com. Will the permalinks be changed from the xxxx.wordpress.com url to my domain?
Typepad format is xxxx.com/2017/06/myblogpost.html
After reading wordpress help it appears that once I do the domain mapping permalinks will be this format:
xxxx.com/2017/06/23/myblogpost
Will users that saved the typepad permalink be directed to my wordpress blog?
I appreciate any help. I tried finding answers in this forum but could quite come up with an exact answer.

Hello!
According to the WordPress.com support docs…
As a result, there’s no need to worry about broken links from other domains due to differing permalink structures!
Judging by the format of the Typepad permalinks, you should be good to go.
Check out the ‘Note on Permalinks’ section of this article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-self-hosted/
I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!
