Permalinks – i can’t find this in my blog

  Hi Friends,

  My question is on Permalink, I was following a tutorial on how to do a blog, and it told me about the permalinks in the settings, but I could not find it.

  Then when in the video they went to download and eml google sitemap, they said click on orange download button-that was fine but then in video it showed install that came up and you would click install.

  All mine had on it after i pushed download it said either save or open but no install. So How would i get this onto my blog site.
  Plus i found the permalinks plugin- it was the same way-i pressed download and then it came up with save or open , But no install?

  The permalink is in the URL

  The tutorial you were following was most likely for wordpress.ORG blogs. wordpress.COM and wordpress.ORG blogs run on different software. In worpress.ORG blog the permalink structure can be changed with a plugin.
  This is not the case with wordpress.COM blogs like the one linked to your wordpress.com username as we don not have FTP access and cannot install plugins at all.

  In wordpress. COM blogs like the one linked to your wordpress.com username the URL for a post includes the date the post was published, but we can edit the “post title slug”. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-title-url/
