Permalinks issue – hundreds of pages affected
-
I have many articles linked from external links without categories. They end up with a 404 not found.
One of many examples:
incorrect:
wrestleview.com/20060-update-on-joey-mercury-and-his-wwe-status
Correct:
wrestleview.com/wwe-news/20060-update-on-joey-mercury-and-his-wwe-statusI want when people click on a link with no category to automatically redirect to the ID and post name. Can this be done through htaccess or functions.php? I cannot do a 301 redirect manually, I have over 1000 links affected by this.
Thanks

Hi there,
The site, http://www.wrestleview.com/, is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software. You can find support for that software in the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/
If I had to guess I’d say there is something wrong with the redirect rules in your site’s .htaccess file, but the people in the self-hosted forums will be better able to confirm that and advise you on how to fix it.
