PermaLinks Linking to Home Page Instead of New Page – Can you help?

  Hi! I published a new page but it re-directs me to my homepage instead of the new page. Can someone please look into?

  I tried clearing my cache and still not working. In addition, my permalinks all look correct.

  Hi there! I don’t think there’s any actual redirection happening, but I do think there’s something wrong with the setup of your page templates. :)

  Your static pages are using the template called Pages, which you’ll find under Appearance > Editor > Template > Pages, or by going directly here:

  This is the reason all your pages look the same – they’re all picking up the content that you’ve added to this Pages template in the Site Editor.

  You’ll need to edit this Pages template to do a few things:

  • Remove the blocks that you don’t want repeated on every static page.
  • Add a Content Block so the content you’ve added to each individual page gets pulled through into the template displayed correctly.

  Think of a template as a container in which the unique content of each page is displayed. The template (container) includes things like your navigation bar, logo, and other Header elements, and all the things in your Footer as well. (You can learn more about templates here.)

  Meanwhile, the unique content of each individual page, on the other hand, is coming from the pages you’ve created here:

  https://wordpress.com/pages/britthigh.com

  Since you are currently missing a Content block on your Pages template, none of your unique content is displaying on your pages, and that’s why they all look the same, giving the illusion of redirection.
