Permalinks menu not displayed

  Hello there, I am very satisfied with wordpress and I really enjoy blogging here. I wanted to remove the dates that are displayed after each of my articles and so I watched many videos about permalinks.

  The thing is I don´t have any permalinks in the Settings menu. How can I install it/ get rid of the date after my articles ?

  I too only signed up to wordpress yesterday and supposedly downloaded 3.3.1 and No permalinks tag is showing in the menu bar instead only webhooks. Also I can find where the plug in bar is to activate akismit. I feel I am working on an old version but it said it was 3.3.1

  WordPress.com does not allow editing of permalink structure. If your sites are hosted here at wordpress.com, you are out of luck.

  If you are self-hosted on a third-party hosting service such as dreamhost, bluehost, etc., then you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress installations are supported.

  Since none of you gave a link to the site you are talking about we have absolutely no idea where your sites are.

  Except for @iainclarke, the site linked to your username is hosted here at wordpress.com. You cannot edit the permalinks.

  You can’t. The blog linked to your username is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. It’s not a WordPress.org install. We cannot change permalink structure on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.

  The blog linked to your username is a free hosted WordPress.com blog. We free hosted WordPress.com bloggersd do not have FTP access to our blogs and we do not install WordPress versions; Staff do all WordPress upgrades for our free hosted blogs. This support forum is only for free hosted blogs like the one linked to your usename.

  If you are referring to a self hosted WordPress.org install then you are posting to thw rong support forum and need to post to http://wordpress.org/support/
