Permalinks Not Available?
-
We’d like to be able to change the permalinks of our blog. From the reading I have done this is not possible. Is this true? If so why not? The functionality obviously exists, why not support it?
To give an example of how we’d like it changed we’d like:
http://blog.cloudability.com/2012/04/10/every-rackspace-user-just-got-a-free-cloudability-account/to be
http://blog.cloudability.com/every-rackspace-user-just-got-a-free-cloudability-account/The slug would stay the same we just want to get rid of the date info.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
We volunteers can’t respond to this so I have flagged this thread for Staff attention. Please be patient while waiting for a response. -

Permalink changes are only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.

Hey macmanx. I understand this isn’t availalbe on wordpress.com sites, but why is that? The functionality is there why not allow users to make use of it?
-
The functionality is there on single WordPress installations, but WordPress.com is a modified WordPress Multisite base. In other words, each blog here is not its own installation.
