Permalinks stopped working

  I created a few pages in the structure mysite/name-of-my-page then I created a new page and no matter what I do it is always displayed as ?p=123. I changed the format to a different one and nothing happened. I logged out and in again and nothing happened. It seems all changes stopped working and I cannot change permalink that I have to anything else and all new pages have names as ?p=123. How to make it work again?
