Permanent link to a pdf document that gets updated?

  I have a pdf file in the media library, which I would like to update occasionally. Because many people pass the link around, I would like the URL to remain constant. WP appends a number to the link, even if I delete the old version before uploading the new version. Is there a way to have a fixed URL for a pdf document that is updated occasionally?

  You can either a) add the link to the pdf (or the pdf itself, after you upload it to Scribd) in the content of a static page, and give the URL of the page instead of the pdf URL, or b) upload the PDF to a free file-hosting site that gives direct URLs (for instance Fileden or Kiwi6).

  Thank you! I just found the ‘upload revision’ feature in scribd, so that should serve the purpose.
