Permanently Delete Account

  Hi there,

  Is there any way I could receive help on permanently deleting my account?
  I’ve tried to do this myself, but have had zero luck.

  Hi A,

  Thanks for your message! I’m so sorry to hear that you are having trouble.

  While it’s not possible to completely delete a WordPress account, it is possible to delete your site and all of your data associated with the account.

  The first step you’ll want to take is to empty your site. You can read more about the steps you’ll need to take to do this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/

  Once you have emptied your site, you will be able to delete it. You can find the button to delete your site, which includes all your posts, pages, media, data, and domain at the bottom of the page here: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/“yourdomainname”

  Please note that you’ll first need to delete any upgrades you have on your account before you’ll be able to delete you site. This FAQ can help walk you through the step: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/#deleting-a-site-with-upgrades

  Once you have finished deleting your site, you can remove all personal information from your Account Settings and change your password to a random string. This will leave your account inactive and prevent you from gaining access to it in the future.
