Permanently delete files from WordPress server?

    I have several PDF files on my WordPress.com site which I would like to be permanently removed from WordPress servers, so that anyone who has the link to them can no longer use that to access the PDFs.

    I have deleted the PDFs from the media library and removed the links from my website, yet clicking on the old link the files still come up. I have tried clearing my cache and logging in and out, they’re still always there.

    What can I do to permanently remove my PDFs from the WordPress servers?

    Hi hollomau5,

    I’m sorry for your frustration. There are a couple of reasons you might still be seeing it, one is that it is likely still cached on the WordPress.com servers. Also, media that you delete from WordPress.com can still be cached by search engines, in those cases you would need to contact the search engines directly.
