Permanently delete my account

  Hi, I would like to permanently delete my account. I’ve only managed to delete my site, but my email address is still associated with this account and I would like to remove it completely. Hope you’ll be able to assist with the deletion. Thanks.

  Hello @inactiveuser2016,

  In order to protect you from impersonation, WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted. However, you can easily delete your blog. If you wish to leave WordPress.com, you can just leave your account inactive.

  Thanks for the prompt response and, yes, I’ve read that link before asking this question.

  So there is no way for me to create an entire new site with my same email address then? That’s inconveniently frustrating of WordPress.

  Please try changing the email address of your old WordPress.com account to something else. Please note that it has to be an active email address, since you need to confirm it.

  Once updated to a different email address, please create a new account with your email address. You can find more information from this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/

  Is it okay to ask what exactly you’re planning to do? You might not need to deactivate your current account anymore if you’re just trying to create a new site or change username.
