Permanently Deleting a PDF file
-
I deleted pdf file from the Media Library. But it remains online even after 5 hours. Need help. Thanks

Hi there,
It can take a few hours after deleting the file before it’s completely cleared from our caches. Do you have a link to the file so I can check?
Also note that deleting it on our end will not remove any copies of it cached with search engines like Google – you’d need to contact them directly to have it removed there.
Anyone who recently accessed the file will also have it cached in their browsers, and will be able to access it until they next clear their browser cache, even after the file is no longer accessible online.

The google Removal requests approved. I also cleared browser cache, but when I type the link, still remains online.

@kevinsplants both links give me a “403: Access Denied — This file requires authorization: You must be logged in and a member of this blog.”
You can check this yourself by looking for both files with your browser in incognitomodus. -
Hi there,
I can also confirm that those files are deleted. Please wait for the changes to propagate in all our servers around the world. If you’re still being able to load those files even in a private browsing session after 24 hours, please contact us again.

@ staartmees Thanks. I tried, even in incognito modus they still remain online. Those two file were deleted on Nov29, I couldn’t find anywhere in media library. The whole web site now is in private mode.

I checked the above 2 pdf files by using google incognito 10 minutes ago. I still can load theose two files. I really do not know what happened. @ fstat or anyone can help me? Thanks.

Those files no longer exist on our servers.
If you’re still able to access them, you’re accessing a version that’s cached somewhere else where we don’t have any control over it.
