  How do I permanently remove my account from the system?

  Let me know if you have any questions. Please read carefully before proceeding as deletion is permanent and we are not able to restore the account in the future.

  This edits the account so I can’t get back in, but the account is technically still active. It seems like my account is still available, but I won’t have anyway to edit it because I’ll have locked myself out. Is there no way to remove the account from the system completely?

  Correct. The account will remain active, however it is deactivated in a way that no one (including yourself) can access it. This prevents anyone from impersonating you in the future. We will not restore the account.
