Permanently Removing My Blog From Alpha Inventions
-
My blog keeps getting linked to this damn site and despite the fact that they’re most apologetic each time I request they remove my blog from Alpha inventions I keep getting linked back onto it.
How can I permanently have my blog removed? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks for replying.
I have emailed their webmaster. This is the THIRD time in about 4 months that I’m again having to request that they remove me.
Is there no way that I can have myself permanantly removed so that they cannot link to my blog ever again? -
Your best bet is to follow the link I provided
& click on the contact link and see what staff
have to say about. -

@scopettg: I think some people here (and I’m one of those people) think that there’s nothing great about having your latest post flashed in front of someone for 5 seconds. The “hits” that people seem to enjoy from Alpha Inventions don’t really represent people reading and interacting with your blog. Do you want a lot of hits or a lot of readers?
@alphainventions: Can you be more specific about the “nonpublic” thing? Is this for each and every post, or can I, say, put it in my sidebar in hidden text? And do you think this will be misinterpreted by search engines (which I actually do want to list my blog)?
-
@whenpandasattack: OIC~ But I thought WordPress’ ping system would have informed the major services already? Besides, to those who are using Alpha, for me for instance, when I see someone’s blog flashing is interesting, I’d drop by. It’s probably about the same for other ping site except alpha needs you to ‘ping’ many times, watching others’ blog flashes past.

I’m with scopettg. I see this as more of a personal gripe, than any real problem with alphainventions. I really don’t see a problem.

I personally do not see anything wrong with AI, or maybe nothing fishy going on, … yet.
I don’t know.BUT
I should not be the one who has to add something to my blog in order for my blog journal not to show up on AI, … if that is my wish.
This is on AI’s shoulders in my opinion!
The guy who came up with AI is obviously tech savy, … so he/she should be the one to take care of anyone not wanting their blog to hit their site.Again, … just my opinion!
-
I’ve just been over to AI, to see what the story is, and I was baffled by what I read, so I posted this message there – I’ll ley you know what I get back.
Message to AI:-
There’s a debate going on in the WordPress forums about alphainventions right now. I’ve seen you in my blog stats, but I can’t say I’m overly bothered. Given the displeasure at WP,though, I thought I’d come and see for myself – and what I saw was this:-
If you don’t want your blog shown, don’t submit it to alphainventions.com, and it will never be show on alphainventions much. This has been mentioned before. Read the threads.
And with that, I do have a problem, because I have never submitted my blog to you. The first I heard of your was when you popped up in my Referrers list. Which prompts the question – what’s it doing there?
As I said, I don’t much care that it IS there, but as it needs to be submitted, and wasn’t, I’m baffled.
Ron.

Hmm… Not entirely got his eye on the ball over at AI – my comment got this:-
Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!
Which is simply not true. Not even been to the website before today. Presumably some keyword-scanning gizmo trashed my comment, so maybe lots of others have said the same thing. You’d think he’d have the wit to take out those two sentences, if that’s the case.
Still, as far as I can see the guy, and his website are harmless, so I’m content to let matters rest. And as I understand it, a post just popping up at AI doesn’t automatically generate a hit. Or something – it’s all a bit rambling and vague.
-
I should not be the one who has to add something to my blog in order for my blog journal not to show up on AI, … if that is my wish.
This is on AI’s shoulders in my opinion!First off I don’t care if AI picks up my posts. But I have to agree here
webmasters shouldn’t have to add text their blogs which could confuse the
readers. this something the webmaster of AI should do on their end their use
to e a message “If you want your Blog removed Contact by Email” but all of sudden
that message disappeared & now states to add the text. IMHO this will NOT settle
will with webmasters that never ask to have their site listed in the first place. -
(An additional thought, … if it has not been mentioned yet.)
Just out of curiosity, I asked my attorney this question.
(No response yet)If AI has a type of feed set up to where it picks up blogs with new content so that others may discover and read them, … I guess that is fine.
But, … what if they are using this feed to generate viewers, and then asking for individuals to “Subscribe” and/or “Donate”?If AI is making money off of my content, … then “they” should take a good look at what they are doing.
AI did not ask my permission for my content, yet AI makes money from it?
You bet they do!I think I already know what the attorney will say!

macroartinnature first I don’t ask anyone to donate, or subscribe. I give them an option, and I even mention that you can continue to use the services without subscribing. You may have not been paying close attention.
An AIID# is used for those who want to keep their blog in the reading cycle longer than those who don’t subscribe. This is best for people who don’t update their blog frequently, or that don’t have time to continue to notify readers about their blog.
I’m not making money from your content or from showing your content. The money comes from those who want their blog shown but don’t want to keep it updated. The sites them is to show recently updated blogs, and if anyone takes away from that, they have an option to pay.
The money isn’t even enough to quit my job as being a trainer for AT&T. Cmon guys.

@scopettg: I’m not sure what your comment about WordPress pinging other sites has to do with Alpha Inventions. WordPress will ping blog search engines (Technorati, for example) so that new posts will appear in search results. If someone is looking for information about Giant Panda attacks, they will probably find my site. If they’re not looking for that, they won’t see my site. This is completely different from the Alpha Inventions model which shows random blog postings to whoever happens to be viewing the site for as long as it takes until the next update (which, as people have noted, may not even be long enough to allow the previous blog to fully load).
@ronsrealm: As I understand it, if someone is viewing the Alpha Inventions site they are loading the blog posts as they are updated and generating a “hit”. Without even clicking on the post or actually going to the blog. If that’s true, are these the hits you want?
@alphainventions: Whatever your intentions with your site, it should be clear that not everyone appreciates what you are doing, although many do. Don’t you think it would be a good idea to restrict your service to people who actually want it? I’m sure it would buy you a lot of goodwill for the future of your efforts.

whenpandasattack do you not realize that sometimes people don’t know what to look for, and some people are so closed minded that they search for the same thing everyday, and are scared of a little random stimulation.
There is enough information on the internet to find every piece to build a rocket to go to outer space, and you can search and find what you need to know to put it together and take off. Still some people can’t even think of what to look at, so we show them.
When you publish your blog, it’s published to the public internet, and alphainventions.com utilizes it’s resources to bring new content to as many people as possible. It’s very educating
Adding the text “nonpublic” in very small font at the bottom of your blog will not hurt your readership, and this will give me time to improve the site rather than to stay occupied building personalized scripts to block individual blogs.

<i>@ronsrealm: As I understand it, if someone is viewing the Alpha Inventions site they are loading the blog posts as they are updated and generating a “hit”. Without even clicking on the post or actually going to the blog. If that’s true, are these the hits you want?<i>
If that’s true, you say. We’re going round in ever decreasing circles here – you don’t know if it’s true, hence the “If”; I don’t believe it’s true. I do know that life’s too short though. I’m done.
-
@ronsrealm: I very deliberately phrased it that way to give alphainventions (or anyone else) the chance to correct me if my assumption is wrong. I’m not sure how it could be wrong, but I’m open to the possibility. I’m really not sure what your role is in all of this – you seem to be spreading disinformation, but I assume that’s not intentional.
