Permission to display our own ads (adsense) on free wordpress blogs.
-
I read somewhere on forum, that wordpress will be allowing adsense on free blogs.
Does anyone knows when can we will be able to show our own ads (adsense) on free wordpress blogs? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
That has been a rumor for over two years that I know of, and I’ve been here over 2 years.
What was said was that they were looking into it. Of course they were saying that over 2 years ago too.
-
I also if I were you would not look for it to be free. It will be an upgrade and I expect it will be about the same cost as the “no-ad” upgrade which means that you will be starting $30 in the hole when you sign up for it.
You need to look at the math carefully if user ads actually become a reality. If you don’t get 500 hits a day, you will likely not recover the upgrade cost. I can’t wait to see the uproar in the forums when that begins to happen.
-
Actually there are people reporting on another forum I answer question on that they get 1000 – 1500 hits every day and make only $6. from Google Adsense. The ads are a reflection of keyword content and most do not pay more that pennies per click.
-
Hi timethief, and thanks for that information. That backs up what I’ve heard from a couple people I know who are using it as well.
-
I get only 300 hits per day on one site, but make $300 a month. We don’t run Adsense, obviously. We go with an established ad network. If we ran Adsense, it would cheapen our site to the point most networks wouldn’t touch us with a ten foot pole.
-
All I know is, we went with the Glam ad network. I’m researching it myself, as I prepare to restart http://lolebrity.net and take it off Wp.

-
hmm, perhaps not. My suggestion is to look at who’s already advertising on blogs like that and hitting them up.
-
I see from the 30-Second Survey on the dashboard that they’re stepping up the pace of looking into this. If you want this, fill out the survey.
-
hello, i am new to blogging and i use it as a hobby. i want to know more about it. thank you.
-
@rain, I didn’t see any 30-second survey in my dashboard.
@sassyassassin, please don’t hijack threads by asking questions that are off-topic from the thread. Please start a new thread, and also do a search for “beginner” in the FAQ’s and in the support pages as well as in the forum. There are literally hundreds of threads on the subject.
There are also a lot of very good articles and information over at http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com about blogging in general and using wordpress.
-
Rain can you tell me how the ad program works on your site cause mine gets about 300 hits a day also. Thanks man.

QUESTION : Does it violate the terms of WordPress.com if you have Adsense on the feedburner feed of your wordpress hosted blog (since feedburner adds that option)?
-
That would be a Feedburner issue.
I don’t HAVE ads on my WP.com sites, because it’s against the terms of service here. As for the ads on my external sites, I’ll be happy to take you on as a consulting client, but I am not cheap. And I don’t give out that information for free.
-
Thanks – I don’t think Feedburner has an issue with the ads since they’re offering the option in the first place :-)
-
I was expecting someone from wp support would answer my question. May be on negative side but if possible at least they can confirm it.
-
This would be confirmation on “no user generated advertising:”
