Permission to make press releases for a web app I made

    Hello, I have a question about a web app I wrote that partially uses the Automattic REST API, and not being a technical question and having received no replies from the developer support, I try to ask here (which is the right place?)

    I’ve just finished building a new web app partially based on the WordPress.com REST API, Blog Wandering – https://bit.ly/2tjHlUY
    In short, I need your permission to make press releases, but I’d like to explain better.

    Blog Wandering is a free tool that allows a user to explore a blog visually: you choose a blog from which to start and you get a map composed of the author and of her/his commenters, then you can click on a commenter and open the map of her/his blog.
    The app works with WordPress.org sites too.

    I read your usage guidelines about the REST API (https://developer.wordpress.com/guidelines/) and it seems to me I’m ok with them (I have privacy, cookie policy and terms of service), I’m writing to you to ask if I may make an announcement on sites like Product Hunt or Reddit using the words “WordPress” and “WordPress.com”. It would be something simple like “…currently the site works with WordPress.org and WordPress.com blogs” as, currently, this is what Blog Wandering can do.

    In general, I’d like to ask you if I may make press releases, if contacting some WordPress news sites is considered such a category.

    I think you need to persevere trying to contact the developers directly. This support forum is merely for free sites hosted at WordPress.com. Volunteers can’t help you. Staff will no doubt see this in due course but will most likely point you towards the developers too. Your earlier thread https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/need-to-contact-developers/

    I re-wrote here after my last thread because that time I hadn’t specified what I had to ask to the developers. It is true that 99,9% of the requests here are for the sites on WordPress.com, but it is also true that https://automattic.com/contact/ says this forum is for WordPress.com support (it seems in general), so I tried here.
