Permission to upgrade a nonprofit’s website

Hello, I am a member of a nonprofit group that has a free WP website. The original administrator is not longer a member and we are looking to upgrade to a paid WP website. As the communications person for the group, I was tasked with upgrading to the paid website and to make changes/updated to the website. I am unable to upgrade and attempts keep telling me that I am not authorized. Can you please assist me?

The original administrator is not longer a member
As only the owner has full permissions for a site you’ll need to contact them and get them to transfer the site to your account.
