Persistent File Not Found

  I have a pdf file in my /wp-contents/uploads/2012/08 folder. The URL I have checked over and over and the link returns ‘file not found on this server’.
  The file was uploaded into the Media Library.
  Another link to another document in the same folder works fine. Help!

  Please provide a link to the site you are asking about.

  Problem solved and noted, friends, that I’m out of my depth here. I shall head for the shallow end at WordPress.org and trouble you no further with my flailing about.
