Persistent Photo Carousel
-
While testing something else entirely, I’ve run across odd behavior with the Photo Carousel. (test post here-temporarily public)
In my test site’s Media Settings, “Enable Carousel” is currently unchecked, has been unchecked for at least 2 weeks, and regardless, the Photo Carousel continues to display when clicking a photo that appears in a Gallery. It seems to affect everything other than the default Thumbnail Grid style Gallery.
I have logged out, done the cookie dance, used a different browser and the Photo Carousel continues to display. Tested in both latest Chrome and Firefox.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry for the delay, it’s fixed now, by clearing the page’s cache on our end.
Finger’s crossed that this was just a temporary glitch, which was then unfortunately cached.

No joy. Both the Tiled Galleries in that post still open the Carousel even though it is turned off in Media Settings.

Found the culprit!
I had a Gallery widget in the sidebar which apparently was overriding other Tiled Gallery settings. Once I removed the widget, the Tiled Galleries in that post behaved as expected (either Media or Attachment pages).

Oh goody, but what does this mean, besides not being able to have a Gallery widget which links to the Carousel without it overriding the general Media settings for my entire site?
