Person steals WordPress.com ID?
-
Hello: I received an e-mail at 11:02 p.m. on January 2 from: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
The e-mail stated that someone tried to reser my password using my wordpress ID: DCWRITER.
There was a link to rest my password. When I clicked it, I learned that someone created a new WordPress site using my name:
http://amandasocci.wordpress.com/
The hacker marked the above website as private and I can not get into it.
My problems:
(1) That website is not mine. The hacker is using my name Amanda Socci without my permission. Please delete that website which was created using my wordpress id: DCWRITER(2) The hacker who stole my WordPress.com ID: DCWRITER has now locked me out. I have tried to reset the password using my correct e-mail address (Creative…@….com) and I am locked out. Please help me.
Thanks,
the real Amanda SocciThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, Amanda.
This may need staff intervention to fix. They’ll be back in action on Monday morning at 9 Eastern. In the meantime, you might try resetting the password yourself, or you can initiate account recovery using the information at the following link.
Once you regain control of the account, it would be good to set up two step authentication to keep whoever it was from gaining access again.
Best of luck getting things back where they belong.

Thank you very much, noebiewan, I will certainly try the account recovery tool!
Thank you so much for your lightning quick reply! I will certainly contact support again on Monday morning.
Sincerely,
Amanda Socci -
My pleasure.
If you aren’t able to recover via a password reset, the account recovery tool will initiate a request with their staff.

Hi Amanda, actually neither of these accounts has recent changes to contact information, and both have existed for quite some time. The amandasocci.wordpress.com site is older too. Is there any chance you’d set up several accounts under different email addresses?
