  When I upgrade to a plan, do I have to transfer my site to a new URL or does that happen automatically to remove ‘wordpress,com/’?

  Hi! Generally when you’re buying a plan and registering a domain at the same time, the domain is set as the “primary” address by default (so visitors stop seeing the .wordpress.com address).

  However this setting can also be manually changed by you; we have a guide for it here:
