  Can I purchase a personal plan without selecting a domain. I’m trying to remove the ads on my site, I’d pay the $4/mo as $48 yearly, paid in advance as WordPress Requires, but I don’t want a custom domain, I’m perfectly content with the inclusion of WordPress in the HTTP Address to my posts. Yet no where does it list that option.

  Do you already have a WordPress.com site? You should be able to upgrade it to a Personal plan without creating a custom domain.

  I do have a Free Site on WordPress, I saw the options for a Personal Plan, it said you get a Free Domain for a year, then pay for the Domain at it’s standard rate after that. I have no need for that, I can try Upgrading and see if the option exists not to select a domain.

  You’re under no obligation to use the free domain, no, and can continue using the free WordPress.com address for as long as you want, even on a paid plan.
