Personal plan without domain
-
I’d like to upgrade from the free plan to the Personal one, just to eliminate the ads. Then it seems I’ll be offered a free domain for a year, but it will renew at the regular price. Can I get the Personal plan without signing up for a domain, or any other cost beyond the $5/month?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I believe you can upgrade to the Personal plan and still keep your current site address ending in .wordpress.com, but I’ll tag this thread to ask if a member of staff could confirm.
PS: Upgrades are charged annually in advance, not monthly. -
Hi –
You’ll need the personal plan for removing ads on the site. It does come with the domain, so I’d suggest using it since it’s incorporated in to the pricing. But there’s no obligation to use that domain if you don’t want it.

The Personal plan is currently the cheapest upgrade WordPress.com offers and consequently the cheapest way to remove ads from your free site.
