Phantom Posting – How do I get rid of this?
-
I published my first posting, and everything seemed fine and stable, but later, as I was working on entering categories, my posting disappeared. No matter what I did, my blog looked like there were no postings. (All other settings were fine.)
So I re-entered the posting, and that seemed fine too. But now I see that when viewed online the content of the posting is the original content followed by the re-posted content. When I edit the posting, both visual and HTML editor show only the re-posted content, i.e. no duplication.
How can I fix this? I’m afraid that if I delete and re-add the posting, I might end up with re-doubled content (like the Sorcerer’s Apprentice).
Any ideas re either the cause or the solution? Thanks.Mike

You’ve got two independent posts (the one is the original sample “Hello world” post, in which you have changed the content and title, the other is the second one you created):
https://newmiddleclass.wordpress.com/2011/02/08/hello-world/
https://newmiddleclass.wordpress.com/2011/02/08/i-was-born/You just go to Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title of the one of the two and click Trash.

That was it – thanks! Just out of curiosity, how were you able to see this (since I assume you can’t look at my dashboard)?
