If I purchase pharmacy plugin $40, does it already have everything set up? such as menu, boxes, order page etc. Can I simply put products and start operating?
Any way to first create website, make it right and then upgrade to business?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi @cabrakaan,

Before you can use a third-party plugin, you’ll need to upgrade to a Business plan or higher. You can review plan features and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

With regards to plugin setup and functionality, please refer to its documentation and/or reach out to the plugin author.

I hope that helps and please reach out again if you have any further questions.

Okay, so first I upgrade to business, then it gives me permission to use custom themes, correct?

So the theme I fancy, is woocommerce theme, It cost $40, i will get it.

last question would be, does upgrading wp to business plan allow me to use woocommerce theme? (after I pay $40(anually) for plugin subscription)

  • Okay, so first I upgrade to business, then it gives me permission to use custom themes, correct?

    That’s correct:

does upgrading wp to business plan allow me to use woocommerce theme? (after I pay $40(anually) for plugin subscription)

WooCommerce is a free plugin, that will allow you to create your e-commerce site. You will be able to install it once your site is on the Business plan. Then, the plugin you asked about, is something you’d need to purchase apart. It’s not part of your subscription.

I see you have reached out to us via email previously, mentioning you already purchased domain and hosting from Hostgator.
Let me just clarify that WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two completely independent entities.

We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

If you wish to build your site with Hostgator, you do not need to purchase any plan on WordPress.com, as you wouldn’t be building your site on our platform.

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.

Okay so I decided to go with annual plan as you offer live chat support to(that’s my livechat where i talk with my customers correct?
Your annual says you provide domain too (Free for 1 year), will I get hosting too? $300 will include business upgrade + domain + and maybe hosting too?

So for $350(including plugin purchase), I can start website operating, correct?

  • Hi there,

I decided to go with annual plan as you offer live chat support to(that’s my livechat where i talk with my customers correct?

No, that is live chat support we provide to you as our customer. If you’re on our Business Plan, you can get help with your site via live chat, rather than here in the public forums.

If you want to offer live chat to your customers on your site, you’d need to install a live chat plugin on your site for that.

Your annual says you provide domain too (Free for 1 year), will I get hosting too? $300 will include business upgrade + domain + and maybe hosting too?

All our plans, including our free plan, includes hosting – hosting refers to having a server on which your site’s files are stored, so we’ve been hosting you from the moment you first created getprescribed.wordpress.com :)

So for $350(including plugin purchase), I can start website operating, correct?

To use plugins on WordPress.com, you need our Business Plan, but the plan itself doesn’t include any plugins. If you want to use any premium plugins sold on WooCommerce.com, or somewhere else, you’ll buy those separately directly from the companies that sell them.

So your total cost will be the Business Plan, plus whatever premium plugins you wish to use.

That said, I do need to point out that we do not allow sites that sell medication/prescription drugs on WordPress.com. You’re more than welcome to host a website for a pharmacy with us, but if you want to sell medicine directly via the site, then you can’t host it with us.

This falls under the category of controlled and highly-regulated substances in our Store Guidelines:

    https://wordpress.com/support/store-guidelines/

So if that’s the type of products you plan to sell, you will need to host your site at another provider.

Understood, yet OTC products are welcome, correct? skin care, erection dysfunction etc, shampoos etc

  • I’m afraid I can’t comment on ED products – that would depend on the specific products, and the decision would be up to our terms of service team.

But selling general health and hygiene products as one typically gets in a pharmacy should be fine, yes :)
