Phishing scam asking to verify my email address or have my domain suspended?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have received two emails this week that appear to be phishing emails. They are set up to look like they are coming from WordPress, but since I use my account all of the time, and have several sites, the email not mentioning any of my domains immediately made me suspicious. I went to my account, my profile, the security section, searched WP’s help topics and did not find any mention of such an email request being sent out, nor did I find anyone yet questioning it as I am doing now.
    Here is the email:

Needless to say, I did NOT click on their link. BTW, the “return address” of “secureserver.net” listed was a bust. No surprise there.
