Why is my phone number not accepted?

  I am trying to add a new URL to my blog. I am following all your links. I have filled out the form with my address, etc. and my phone number. I am writing my phone number as (area code) xxx-xxxx. I keep getting a notice at the top of the page when I try to register for the URL with privacy, about what characters are accepted. I have used only those acceptable characters, numbers, a dash, and a set of parentheses. What else can I do??? ABC

  Please try just entering the numbers straight, with no parentheses, spaces, or dashes.
