Photo blog. How can I ensure info. can be found through google search etc?

  Hi all. I have a photo blog of racehorses. When I upload the photos I input the following:
  ‘title’ – leave as the image number
  ‘Alt. text’ – blank
  ‘Caption’ – I enter course number, horse and jockeys name i.e Course 1, ASILAND, PIERRE-CHARLES BOUDOT
  ‘Description’ – blank
  ‘Link URL’ – I leave as is

  I can see through wordpress how people search and it is often with the jockeys name. If I input for e.g PIERRE-CHARLES BOUDOT into google search, there are no links to my site. My question is, is it possible to complete the details when uploading the image, so there would be a link to google. I also have ‘categories’ which are the racecourse names such as Pompadour. Again when I enter Pompadour into Google there are no links to my site. Can anyone advise please? Thanks in advance.

  ALT text is very important. The Google crawler cannot read image scripts and therefore using the Alternate text ALT attribute (providing a concise text description) will allow you to tell the crawler what the image is referring to. Please see here > Get the Most Out of Image Search

  Your blog is new and it takes time for search engines to index content. For the 10 factors that tend to expedite indexing of your content by search engines please read > OMG! I can’t find my blog on Google

  You also need to change the link on your Profile; your website is not sharonyoungphotography.wordpress.com. That will help too.

  Hi, I changed the website details as you suggested but under the heading ‘primary blog, it still states wordpress.com is this ok?

  Yes, that’s fine. It just shows that way on your dashboard. It works just fine. Lovely pictures by the way. I didn’t even know they had harness racing in France!
